Kuljit and Rachel are curled up together on the sofa when Sway gets home. Feeling uncomfortable he decides to go in the other room to listen to music but Kuljit stops him because Amrit is asleep there. Kuljit's ordered pizza for all three of them but Sway declines saying he needs to go and check on things for Jodie and heads off to the canal. He's settling in for the night when Brian calls in; he saw lights on in the barge. Brian comments how life has changed for Sway recently with all his new responsibilities but Sway is adamant he hasn't changed.
Sameer and Rozena have been to a concert but the atmosphere has been chilly all night and Sameer wants to know what's wrong. Rozena tells him she's fed up with his parents' snobbish attitude. They look down on Mushtaq and Zenab and act as if she should be grateful to have snared Sameer as a husband. Sameer sympathises, he knows exactly how annoying they are. Rozena can't understand how they have sensed the problems; she thought her parents had done a good job of hiding them. Sameer confesses that he told them about Zenab living in Pakistan . Rozena is outraged and storms off. Sameer goes after her to try and explain; Khatija had already spilled the beans so he was just trying to give them the correct version of the story. Rozena is embarrassed that her family have been pretending all this time when they knew all along. Sameer tries to make her feel better suggesting maybe his parents are the fakes, not hers. He tells her about his childhood; how they always had to present a perfect façade and how uncomfortable that was. Rozena wonders if he knows what he's letting himself in for with her family.
