The Jilanis arrive at the Akhtars for the Eid meal, and Khatija notes Imran's absence. Zenab is not happy that Kamal is the only other guest, and is sure it's deliberate. She's even more perplexed when she is seated next to him at the table. Rozena congratulates Nadia on getting her business grant and offers her advice on how best to use it. The atmosphere remains tense, and as Zak recounts a brick throwing incident at the mosque Pervaiz reminds him that the purpose of Ramadan is to teach self restraint.
Krishan phones Kamla to say he really wants to see her on his birthday. She explains that she can't possibly visit and he suggests meeting in secret at the firework display. She's hesitant but he begs. He can leave his parents for a short time. She agrees on the condition that Roopa comes with him, and they both look forward to it.
At the Akhtars the meal is nearly finished and Zenab and Kamal discover a common interest in poetry. Zak and Nadia have offered to clear away and are talking in the kitchen. Nadia confides that she misses Jas and has promised to keep an eye on Roopa for her. She never imagined her and Jas would go in such different directions.
Back in the living room Khatija fishes once again about Imran. Rozena can bear it no longer and Zenab can do nothing to stop her....
