Kamla falls out with Mary over some comments Mary makes about Jai and the new house. Krishan comes to visit her at the house and isn't impressed. He's worried it's too cold for her because old people get hypothermia if they don't keep warm. Kamla tries to light the gas fire but it isn't working. Krishan then checks the kitchen cupboards and finds there is not much food in the house. He was worried there might not be so he brought her some kebabs and rice from home. Krishan tries to persuade her to come home because he misses her and her stories. His mum's stories are rubbish in comparison. Kamla reassures him that she will never leave him. There will be a room for him at the new house and he can visit whenever he wants.
Mary takes some of Sean's old baby clothes to Simran for the new baby. Simran shows her the latest scan. Mary is amazed how clear it is and predicts it will be a boy. Mary says she hopes she hasn't offended Simran, giving her second hand baby things after all she's upset Kamla already today. Simran tells a shocked Mary about Jai's punch up at Chunky's.
Jas has a meeting with her tutor, Jennifer, who's worried about her attendance. Jas tells her about all the problems at home. Jennifer thinks she might have the solution. There is a place on an exchange programme with Glasgow for one term. It would mean Jas could get right away from all her problems and concentrate on her studies. Jas is unsure at first, Scotland is so far away. She soon decides it's a good idea though, no matter what Imran or her parents say.
