Rita assumes that Jai is finally getting what he deserves when she hears raised voices coming from Kamla's room. Jas and Arun are discussing what Jas should do now. Arun suggests she should pretend that Jai made it all up about her and Imran, but Jas thinks it's time the truth came out. At the park, Rajan tries to reassure Roopa and Krishan who are worried about their mum and dad.
Jai tells Kamla that he has to leave, but he wants Kamla to come with him. They could move into the house they looked at. Kamla isn't happy and says she will put things right with Rita. Jai says it's impossible; he can't stay where he isn't wanted. He tells Kamla he'll make the new house nice for them and the children can visit whenever they want. Kamla is worried that Rita would stop them coming, she missed the children so much when she went to India it would break her heart not to see them.
Just as Rajan gets home with the children, Kamla and Jai emerge....carrying suitcases. Kamla announces they are both leaving; she can't live somewhere that Jai isn't welcome. Rita is amazed; she can't understand how Jai has talked himself out of this one. Rajan and the children are just as shocked. Jas pleads with her not to go but Kamla snaps at her...she's had enough of being lied to. Jai continues to play the innocent. He claims this is all for the best...he's taking the burden from Rita and he begs for her forgiveness, he knows it was his fault that she was made to marry Pradeep. As a parting shot he whispers to Pradeep that he should ask Rita exactly what happened with Hilary....
