Zenab is nervous about Sameer's parents coming for dinner. They need to make a good impression and it means pretending to be a real couple even though they've been separated. Mushtaq informs her he is out of practice!
Roopa tells Pradeep how disappointing it was to put her plans for stage school on hold because Kamla wouldn't finance it. She reckons they are in the same boat seeing as he didn't get any money to invest in Saffron Rays either. She later tells Arun that Pradeep seems depressed. The least they can do is go on the barge trip and pretend to have fun for their dad's sake.
At dinner Mushtaq asks leading questions about Sameer's career prompting Zenab to change the subject. Sameer's mum later asks how Rozena's own career will affect married life. Zenab quickly assures her that despite her independent nature Rozena will be happy to take breaks to have children. Sameer's dad claims they've always encouraged their children to be independent too.
Later Mushtaq tells Zenab he isn't convinced Sameer didn't use family connections to get where he is today. And they were right to be wary about Rozena too - she hardly comes across as the nurturing type. They do agree that Sameer's parents made a handsome couple and Zenab wonders how they came across themselves.
Over at the pub Jai tells Sean not to expect everything to be plain sailing now that he is home. Other inmates will be expecting him to do things for them now that he is out and he will end up in trouble again. Sean admits there is this one guy who wants him to check up on his girlfriend. Jai says this is how it all starts.....
