Mary tells Sean about Arun enrolling at college and suggests he do the same. Getting into a routine will be good for him. He has to put the whole Youth Offenders thing behind him now.
Over at Parkside there is a meeting about community tensions. Imran claims Muslim kids are feeling vulnerable and unsafe. A Muslim attendee agrees but thinks the police not taking action is a bigger concern. An angry policeman points out they do what they can but can't eliminate threat itself. MP Malik suggests they focus on building up a shared community. Imran agrees; they have to provide hope.
Later, Mary tells Jai she's worried about Sean. Jai suggests she keep talking to him. Pete and Brian should keep an eye on him too. Then Nadia turns up with a peace offering. Mary hasn't forgotten what she did recently but eventually accepts Nadia's offer of a free haircut. Nadia even manages to persuade Mary to write a recommendation letter for her business fund.
Back at the Chauhans, Jai grabs an email off Arun and reads it out loud. It's from Suresh and he is congratulating Rita on getting her life back on track despite what Jai did to mess it up 20 years ago. Rita asks Jai what's wrong with his voice all of a sudden. Doesn't he think it's funny anymore?
