Rita and Pradeep are driving home after having lunch out to celebrate their 20 th wedding anniversary. They get back to a silent house but are startled by a noise from the garden. Pradeep notices the door is open and assumes the worst...but outside they just find Kamla and the children waiting to surprise them. They've organised a special barbeque party and got them a present: a plate (china, because it's their 20 th ) with a picture of the family on.
Jas and Kamla go to take care of the food and Arun puts on an '80s tune which brings back memories for Rita and Pradeep. Rozena and Sameer arrive with more presents and Mushtaq appears with Zenab. Rita welcomes Zenab then calls Jas over. Zenab says she's grown up but still cute - doesn't Imran agree? Embarrassed, Jas goes to check on the barbeque and Imran offers to help. Zenab tells Rozena she'll have to help her find him a nice girl!
Arun tells Zak he's signed up for a BTEC in Peforming Arts, specialising in Music Technology - he's going to be a professional DJ! He wants Zak to sign up too but Zak's too attached to his pay packet.
Rita introduces Jai to Zenab who quizzes him about what he's up to. Rita tells her he's a barman at Mary's pub but Jai jumps in to say it's just a stop gap. Rita thanks everyone for coming and asks Jai to take a picture of the family. She's a bit worse for wear and tries to rub it into Jai that it's her family - what has he got? Jai responds by asking Rita to take a picture of him and Kamla - his lovely mum - which really winds her up. She accuses of him of having his eye on Kamla's money but Jai gives as good as he gets: he remembers when she got drunk at the club. What would Pradeep say if he knew...?!
