It's the first day of Rita's work experience with the police. At the station she meets her mentor Mr Parmar who offers to take her through a case after he's shown her around.
At the Jilanis, Rozena finds her mum chatting to Sameer's mum on the phone about wedding dates! She's not amused and says Zenab should have at least consulted her first. Zenab apologises for being pushy and promises Rozena she'll talk to her first about anything to do with the wedding. Rozena apologises too - she's just used to doing things for herself.
Imran wanders downstairs followed by Mushtaq who wants to be up and about. They agree he looks better but insist that he take it easy. But Mushtaq is determined to get outside and says Zenab can keep an eye on him. Zenab suggests visiting the marketing suite so she can see the apartments for herself. She's really impressed by them and tells Rozena she can see a lot of potential in the business.
At the police station, Mr Parmar tells Rita what interpreting is like. You can be called out at all hours and never know how long a job will take. You can say no to a call if you want to - but only if you can do without the money. Rita realises she should have thought more about the unsociable hours before. After reading a statement Rita wonders if she'll be able to be as impartial as she should be and Mr Parmar reassures her - it's only her first day.
Later on Imran takes Rozena some lunch at the marketing suite. He wants to talk about their parents and Rozena comments that they do seem very pally - what is Zenab up to? She was very impressed with the apartments...what if she came to check on how much Mushtaq is worth? Maybe she thought he was dying...?
