Sameer enters the Jilani house to find Mushtaq being fussed over. Rozena decides to help by unplugging the phone - to which Mushtaq does not protest as otherwise Zenab will probably call. Jas is on the phone to Imran. He's feeling reluctant about going public. For some reason, he feels like the graffiti was directed at their relationship.
Meanwhile, to Kamla's annoyance, Roopa is still in the bathroom taking care of her throat. Kamla is not in the mood to hear about Roopa's singing ambitions. In the kitchen, Jas advises Roopa, that if she really wants to go to stage school she will find a way. Suddenly, Kamla bursts in, goading Roopa for having a dirty room and being too skinny. Instead of complaining however, Roopa formulates a better idea. She impresses Kamla by washing up and agreeing to join in the fast. Perhaps now she will take Roopa's dreams seriously.
Rozena and Sameer have gone shopping for engagement rings. A long time passes and Rozena has not yet found a ring. Sameer teases her for never going for the easy option but both agree that they don't want a wedding with "everyone and their uncle." However, as they begin to drive off Rozena sees a previously visited shop and announces to Sameer that she had already seen the perfect ring but just needed to be sure.
Imran arrives at Mushtaq's after a long day working. Mushtaq warns him that now he has realised that there is more to life than work. Rozena soon follows him in and she and Imran start to prepare dinner. As the family congenially chat, the doorbell rings. The Jilani's are in for a shock as in walks Mushtaq's wife, Zenab!
