Rita compliments Kamla on her rice pudding claiming it's better than Pradeep's. They then discuss Pradeep buying into Saffron Rays but Kamla thinks it may be too much for him and he should talk to a 'born entrepreneur' like Jai. Rita disagrees and Kamla thinks she should give him more credit.
Mary grills Sean about Yusef's beating but Pete suggests he talk to Sean alone. Sean talks about Yusef showing him the Koran and trying to get him to pray with him. Pete reckons he should steer clear of people like that. Mary gets back and Pete promises to fill her in later. Why doesn't she tell Sean all about the new man in her life instead?
Jai gets an unpleasant call from a loan shark. He later tells Kamla it was a business associate and he is helping her find the best way to invest her money. Kamla just wants to buy a house and besides she has to think of Rita and Pradeep. Jai reckons they don't need the money and besides Pradeep would be insulted by the offer.
Jas is on the phone to Imran and is worried about Mary telling everyone what she knows. Krishan shouts to her to come downstairs. The family go through the ritual of tying the threads symbolising a brother and sister relationship. Rita remembers Jas tying one on Imran last year and she's got photos somewhere. Jai suggests that makes Imran family but Jas doesn't want to hear this and leaves.
Later, Mary finds a breathless Jas on her doorstep. Mary has to promise never to tell her family about Jas and Imran because if she does it is going to tear their families apart - for good!
