Jodie and Mani arrive home to find Kuljit still sorting through Mani's memorabilia. Kuljit asks how it went and they both say they're going to be fine. Jodie helps Kuljit fetch some drinks so they can raise a toast to Stella.
Kuljit leads the toast to Stella and then Mani tells them more stories from the old days. Jodie falls asleep on the sofa and Kuls and Mani go to the kitchen so they don't disturb her. Mani bumps into a box, spilling some documents onto the floor which Kuljit scoops up takes with him. A picture of a child with her mother falls out and when Mani seems flustered Kuljit senses that something is up. Then he realises it is Jodie and Stella - Mani knew about her all this time! He's been lying all along and now Jodie believes him. Mani tries to calm Kuljit down but Kuljit says Jodie has a right to know. He finds the letter which went with the photo - it seems Stella gave Mani every chance to meet his daughter but he's managed to convince Jodie that her dead mother was lying!
Kuljit is stunned that Mani let them suffer all those years and Mani pleads with him not to tell - this is his one chance to put everything right. Does Kuljit want to break Jodie's heart forever? Kuljit makes Mani burn the evidence - if he's going to keep Mani's secret there must be no way Jodie can find out. Afterwards, Kuljit goes to put Jodie to bed. She notices the burning smell but he tells her it's toast, then helps her upstairs and leaves...
