Kuljit, Sway and Jodie, pull up outside Mani's house and start unloading the van. They dump the boxes in the living room and Mani regales Sway with stories of how he started first playing with the Beatles. In the background, Jodie warns Kuljit not to ply Mani with beer - she doesn't want him bragging about his women again.
Mani describes how he was busking on the underground when some hipster-types passed by and dragged him to a party. He didn't know it at the time but two of those people were in the Beatles. Everyone was on something and they were fascinated by him but there was only one person there he had eyes for...Stella. Mani remembers how beautiful she looked and he shows Jodie a photo Stella took the first time he saw her.
Everyone was hanging on his every word apart from Stella - even then she knew how to cut his ego down to size. Sway has to leave to meet Jai and Kuljit seems put out, but when Jodie asks if everything is OK between them Kuljit doesn't want to talk - he'd rather listen to Mani. Jodie still isn't convinced by Mani's professions of love and asks him straight out why he slept around if he really loved her mother so much. Mani says he was never worthy of Stella. Even on that first night the girls were falling all over him and he allowed his head to be turned - but he'll never stop regretting what he did to Stella. Jodie reveals that it's the anniversary of Stella's death the next day and that she's going to Newcastle to visit her grave... she thinks Mani should go too.
