Rita is settling her bills in Brady's News. She asks Mary how Sean's doing 'inside' and says she's done a great job bringing Sean up since Siobhan left. They both agree that Siobhan was always carefree - but whilst that's OK when you're a child, it's another thing when you have one of your own...
At the salon, Simran asks Nadia to stick to greeting her own clients - she'd prefer it if she'd stop interfering. Shortly afterwards she calls Jodie and tells her that Nadia is driving her mad - she's only after some gossip.
Pete goes to help Mary out in the shop. Now he's back, Mary's not sure whether to keep Jai on at the pub but Pete says he's been impressed with how he handles difficult customers. Mary admits Jai does have a knack with the punters - even the takings have gone up.
Kuljit goes into the newsagents and an elderly man follows him in. The man is in distress and calls out in Gujerati but no-one can understand him. He falls to the floor and Mary rings an ambulance. Then Rita comes back in to pick up a magazine and she understands what he's saying. She talks to him and realises he has diabetes and so they give him some chocolate. When the ambulance has been and gone, Kuljit tells Rita she was brilliant - before she came in none of them knew what to do. Rita, however, still isn't convinced she can do it for real...
