Sway and Jodie are at the cafe nervously waiting for Kuljit who is back at the flat reading the report from the second opinion consultant. They're relieved when Kuljit rushes in excited - the second consultant has said she isn't certain Kuljit's dad has schizophrenia.
Kuljit can't believe he's been listened to. He's just spoken to his dad's ward consultant and he's agreed to try a different treatment in light of the report. His dad will get new medication and a therapist who speaks Punjabi - but what Kuls really wants is his dad to get out of the hospital. Sway warns him to take one step at a time but Jodie says they should enjoy the day.
Elsewhere, Rita is at home preparing for another presentation at college. Pradeep is fazed by all the technology she's using and feels a bit left behind - what if they have nothing to talk about once she's qualified?
Rozena and Sameer are having a weekend away. Rozena's in a dire mood and snaps at Sameer when he says he thinks their families should meet up. She tells him the conversation will have to wait until later but Sameer doesn't let up. Eventually Rozana gives in and stops the car - she'll talk about it over lunch.
Kuljit, Sway and Jodie celebrate the good news by going to the Vaisakhi Mela. Kuljit feels like a huge weight has been lifted from his shoulders and Jodie decides the time is right to tell him that Mani is her father. Kuljit is shocked and seems put out when he realises that Sway already knows. Sway insists there will be no more secrets between them but Kuljit doesn't sound convinced...
