Roopa's in a great mood because she's won £100 on the Grand National sweepstake and she knows exactly how she's going to spend it! Jai seems put out and confesses to Kamla he really needed the cash. Kamla tells him to get over to the pub: it's all about being in the right place at the right time and Mary could do with a hand right now.
At the pub, Sean gets up to find Mary in the kitchen. Mary can't help but have a go at him for his behaviour and Brian has to calm things down when he comes in. Mary starts on at Sean again later and tells him he's made her feel like a failure. Sean storms out and Brian warns Mary she's got to stop scolding him - what's done is done.
Jai and Roopa head out towards Silver Street together and chat about the mess Sean is in. Jai admits he always had a bit of a thing for Sean's mum, Siobhan - she was a real looker! Meanwhile at home, Rita's feeling relieved that it wasn't Arun who ran Mani over - he used to be so close to Sean he could easily have got mixed up in the car racing too. Kamla doesn't agree with her: Sean comes from a broken home and that's the root of it all.
Jai drops in at the Golden Crown to see about the job. Mary obviously hasn't given it a moment's thought so Brian steps in and offers him it - they could do with the help. Jai leaves without mentioning Sean but Mary knows the Brady's will soon be the talk of the town. How is she going to face people...?
