Kuls and Sway arrive at Sway's home in London to be greeted by a barrage of kisses from his mum. Sway's sister Sarah is there too and so is his Gramps, who's pleased to see some more men in the house for once!
As they settle down to eat, Sarah asks Kuls if he really believes he can track down all his relatives. Sway's mum, Shirley, suddenly remembers seeing a newspaper article about one of his old girlfriends, Manisha - she's a comedienne now. Shirley says she'll dig the article out but Kuljit isn't keen to see her.
After dinner, the boys go upstairs to rummage through their old stuff whilst downstairs the family discuss Kuljit. Shirley thinks he's just putting a brave face on things and is worried he's not taking care of himself. Sway decides to have a bath and in the meantime Shirley brings a drink up to Kuljit. She describes what he was like when he first arrived with them - so nervous she just wanted to hug him. It was a battle to foster him permanently but it was worth it.
Later, Kuljit can't fall sleep so he goes downstairs. Shirley is up listening to the radio and Kuljit shows her a photo he found of him and Manisha. He admits he still thinks of her although he's not sure he's ready to see her again. The first person he needs to track down is Auntie Rajvinder, who refused to translate for his dad at the doctors. He remembers the doctors signing Amrit off work - that's what broke him. Shirley asks Kuljit if he's sure about digging up the past but Kuljit replies that he's got to - otherwise he'll lose his dad for good.
