Mary is taking Mani to see Jodie at the café. Mani's feeling worried and Mary orders him to cheer up - he's got to stop being so negative. She drops Mani off then dashes to the salon, arranging to pick him up later. Mani asks Jodie to sit down so they can talk properly about their relationship. Jodie is hostile and asks him what relationship that is - they've never had one. And why has it taken him so long to come over? Is he ashamed of her? Mani tries to defend his actions and tells Jodie her mother never told him about her. Jodie refuses to believe him - he's putting his word against a dead woman's and she's heard him talking about his "free love" in the '60s.
Meanwhile, Nadia cuts Mary's hair at the salon. Simran is out at her meeting with the bank and Nadia's still feeling bitter about being rejected by them. Mary suggests she starts off a bit smaller: why not try some kind of mobile business first?
Later, Jai helps Krishan with his school local history project and takes him around the area to tell him what it used to be like. They pass the post office that Kamla and her husband owned and Krishan says his Ba lights a candle there every year. Jai seems upset by what he hears...but why?
