It is Eid and Mushtaq is hosting a dinner party. Nadia and Zak are there along with Brian, Mani and Jodie. Mushtaq says it's a shame that Khatija and Pervaiz couldn't make it. Brian suggests a toast and they all wish each other Eid Mubarak and remember absent friends. Rozena needs an opportunity to speak to Brian alone and asks him to help her in the kitchen.
Rozena wants to know what Brian is playing at by telling Mushtaq about Sameer. Brian admits his plan backfired - Mushtaq was supposed to do the typical Pakistani father bit and get angry but instead he approved. Brian enjoys winding Rozena up and suggests she is losing her cool.
Back in the lounge, the atmosphere seems strained and Imran wants to know what's with the long faces? Jodie wants to leave and Mushtaq tries to get Mani to persuade her to stay longer. Mani's response is half hearted and so Jodie decides to go.
Mushtaq walks Jodie out. She tells him how awful it feels that Mani barely acknowledged her. Mushtaq tells her she's silly. She needs to see things from Mani's point of view - why is she so selfish? Jodie accuses Mushtaq of controlling Mani and demands he stop interfering.
Mani observes this exchange through the living room window and later asks Mushtaq what the argument was about. Mani suggests Jodie left because of him but Mushtaq pretends Jodie is upset because her business is suffering. Mani replies that he could help her - if only he got the chance...
