Roopa and Bina are having a sneaky cigarette in the school toilets. Roopa tells Bina how annoyed she is at being grounded and this is no way to treat a future star. Just wait till her birthday, she'll show the family how grown up she is!
Jodie is in the pub with Sway who has just got back from spending Christmas away. Jodie tells him she finally told Mani he is her dad on New Years Eve but he hasn't contacted her since and now she doesn't know where she stands.
Sway tells Jodie to make the first move in contacting Mani and suggests Jodie talk to Mushtaq as he is the person most likely to know how Mani is feeling. Jodie says she never thought she'd see the day when Mushtaq was her only hope!
Sway's mum rings Kuls for a chat. She is worried about how his dad's illness is affecting him. Kuls thinks it is a case of misdiagnosis all because he couldn't translate properly when he was little. Sway's mum tells Kuls to think about himself for once and let the hospital take care of things. Sway's mum reassures Kuls that despite being deserted by his dad's family he isn't alone. She is his family now along with Sway and Kuls has to promise to remember that they love him - OK?
