Roopa, Arun and Krishan are helping Kamla and Mary prepare for Mani's welcome home at the pub - and causing chaos in the process! Mary is worried because Sean's still hiding in his room. Jas arrives looking for Krishan and realises straight away he's worried about something. He says it doesn't seem right everyone having fun after the tsunami disaster. He wanted to donate all his toys but Rita wouldn't let him so he's emptied his money box instead. Jas tries to calm him down, telling him no-one knows why these things happen, they just do. If he wants to do something why doesn't he collect donations at the New Year's party in the pub? Mary is sure to let him.
Meanwhile, Simran and Jaggy are at home. Simran's feeling rough but says she'll compromise - why don't they go to the Golden Crown? Jaggy isn't impressed but then he gets a text and when Simran asks him who it's from he agrees to go to the pub to distract her.
Later on, everyone gathers at the pub to wait for Mani. Mushtaq and Arun are arguing when Imran brings Mani in - he's glad to see nothing has changed! Everyone crowds round and Mushtaq makes them move back. Mary gets Mani a cocktail and he asks after Sean - Mary says he's just getting ready upstairs. Mani also asks if Jodie is coming and Mushtaq says he's sure she'll want to see to him. Mani gives a speech thanking everyone for their support: with friends like these he'll never feel lonely. The speech tires Mani out but he's adamant he'll stay until midnight.
Rozena arrives soon after and Brian asks for a New Year truce. She says next year is going to be tough too. Brian tries it on with her but Rozena tells him he's delusional - he's got no chance! They drink to 2005 and to Brian finally meeting his match!
