Kuls and Sway visit Jodie at the cafe, which is heaving. They recognise lots of the customers from their club night and make her grudgingly admit that their gig has actually brought her new business - how else would these trendy types know of her cafe?
Kamla is at home looking for easy recipes to cook for the homeless at the Parkside Centre. Rita's surprised that Kamla is so keen to "get into the community" and Kamla admits she was bored in India. Yes the food and the weather were good but she felt her mind was seizing up. Now she's going to be more involved in things - she's staying in Silver Street for good.
Sway's on his way home for Christmas and stops at the salon to say goodbye to Nadia - he's not seen her for a while and is worried she's avoiding him. Nadia says she's been busy with family stuff. Sway gives her a present - a CD - and Nadia is touched. She's disappointed when he has to rush off and asks if she can ring him. Of course, says Sway.
Later, Mushtaq visits Jodie. She expects him to discuss business but he says he heard her talking to Mani in the hospital - he knows she's Mani's daughter. Jodie tells Mushtaq about why she moved to Silver Street: she wanted to find out who her father was and make him feel guilty. She was angry but when she met Mani that anger turned to sadness, then respect. Mushtaq tells her Mani's only regret is that his relationship with her mother ended. So why did he abandon us?, asks Jodie. Why didn't he want to see his own daughter...?!
