The Akhtars prepare for Pervaiz and Khatija's visit to Pakistan to sort out the family land dispute. Nadia is worried and Zak thinks his dad is too gutless to stand up to his brother. Pervaiz is upset by the comments but Zak isn't sorry, he is only speaking the truth.
It's the first day back to school after the summer holidays and Krishan is upset that he didn't get a new uniform. Rita tells him she hasn't got time for this now - she needs to get ready for the demonstration that might get her job back . She promises to get him some new clothes as soon as things are better. At the demo, Rita talks to her ex-boss. She thinks he knew about the redundancies in advance but he says he didn't and is angry too - he also has a family to support. He tells her they can't change anything; the contracts they signed have made sure of that.
Jas calls Nadia from the newspaper office and tells her she is thinking of writing an article about illegal car racing and Nadia says she would stop Zak from doing anything like that. Nadia is scared about her parents' situation and bursts into tears, but Jas is interrupted by a colleague so she says she'll call back later.
Pervaiz tries talking to Zak again saying that reasoning will work better than confrontation, but Zak tells him he lacks courage. He makes his dad cry and the argument remains unresolved as his parents leave for the airport.
