Its Jodie's birthday and she is settling for a night in with a video when Kuljit and Sway turn up and announce they are taking her out instead, and can wangle free entry into a club. The boys want to promote their own talent again and Jodie accuses them of using her birthday as an excuse to go out for research. Kuljit later tells Sway in the club that he wants to talk to Jodie alone. He tells her how he feels about her but she says she doesn't feel the same way, and doesn't want to jeopardise their friendship.
Rozena and Sameer go for a meal and Rozena tries to find out more about his background. Sameer tells Rozena that he wants to get to know her better but feels she hasn't opened up to him yet. He presents Rozena with a gift 'fit for a princess' that he won at the Mela. On the way home Rozena suggests Sameer comes in but to her disappointment he declines saying he doesn't want to rush things.
Rozena pays a late night visit to Mushtaq's office and asks how business with Brian is going; Mushtaq tells her it could be better. He then pops out of the office missing a phone call that diverts to answering machine. It is Brian saying he has left his mobile on the desk. Rozena deletes the message and pops Brian's phone into her bag. An unsuspecting Mushtaq returns and suggests tea. Rozena refuses and leaves - she's got what she wanted…
