It's the night of the public meeting about the new property development. Mani is getting ready to go when Kuljit comes round to see him. He wants to do something with him at the Mela - a bit more adventurous than just a ten-minute tabla set - and Mani is keen. They go into the flat above the restaurant so Kuljit can look at some old photos of Mani's, and when Mani realises Kuls and Sway have nowhere to live he says they can stay there.
Things aren't going well at the meeting for Mushtaq. Chunky speaks out against the development and Mushtaq gets more and more wound up, then Mani steps in and tells people that whatever their concerns are they shouldn't make judgements about Mushtaq - he's done a lot for the community in the past. Pradeep wants to speak but when he gets the mike he drys up. Jas steps in and makes an impressive speech asking people to look at both sides. Everyone applauds and Imran tells Jas he's impressed.
Jas heads home after her speech, and sees Arun in trouble in the park. He'd confronted the burglars and now they're roughing him up. They head off when Jas steps in, but first make them promise not to say anything about the burglary. So now Jas knows, what will she do…?
