It's the day after the demolition, and Kuljit and Sway wake up after an uncomfortable night in the warehouse. Outside they meet Jodie, who's opening a café nearby, and they manage to charm her into giving them breakfast, before they head off to find some petrol.
At the hospital, Kamla is visited by a police officer, who asks her for a description of the burglars. Kamla is tetchy and unhelpful, and afterwards Rita apologises for her mother's behaviour. When the officer asks Rita if she saw anything unusual the day before, she remembers Kuljit and Sway and their van.
Brian and Mushtaq visit the demolition site to discuss the next stage of the development. Brian wants to press on and he assures Mushtaq all the building permissions have been sorted, but Mushtaq would prefer not to rush into any decisions. He wanders off to see how Jodie (who is his tenant) is getting on, and can't believe it when he sees Kuljit and Sway's van - which nearly ran him over - parked outside.
Kuljit and Sway walk back along the canal after getting some petrol. Kuljit says he likes the feel of the place but Sway won't even consider staying - he says he's leaving, with or without Kuljit, and he has the keys to the van. But where's the van…..?
