CHAUHAN HOUSE
What's it all about?
Behind the door of this terraced house lies a world of frantic - and noisy - activity. Wander in and you're quite likely to find Arun arguing with Jas about his music, Roopa fighting with Krishan, slamming doors and temper tantrums. But underneath all the melodrama and teasing the family is actually very close.
With Kamla there too it was packed to the rafters, and it could do with a lick of paint too. Now they've finally got their dining room back Rita would love to give it a "Changing Rooms" makeover - if only they could afford it...
Most likely to see there:
Rita - Without her the family would fall apart and Krishan would never get to school! Pradeep - If he's not at the City Farm, or Saffron Rays Krishan - On the computer in his bedroom
Classic moments:
- Uncle Jai turning up during Roopa's birthday party and thumping Kuljit. - Jai killing Totaram in a temper - Kamla trying to stop two burglars, who broke in while the rest of the family were out.
Did you know?
Kamla left the house to go back to India for good returning again only a few months later, after realising she couldn't live apart from her family.
And another thing...
Rita retrained to become an interpreter after being made redundant from her job at a call centre.
