 Whoe'er thou art, O reader, know, That Death has murder'd Johnie; An' here his body lies fu' low - For saul he ne'er had ony.

This is an epitaph by Robert Burns. It was written in 1786 and is read here by Elaine C Smith.

Burns recorded 'Epitaph on Wee Johnie' in his Commonplace Book in April 1794.
This short verse was then published in the Kilmarnock Edition of Poems, Chiefly in the Scottish Dialect (1786).
