This is an epitaph by Robert Burns. It was written in and is read here by Clare Grogan.
Pauline MackayWhile there is no manuscript evidence to attribute this epitaph to Robert Burns, it is well known that the poet often revelled in crude verse and mock epitaph.
It remains possible, then, that Burns was the author. It is thought that the verse was inspired by Laird Hugh Logan of Cumnock (1739 - 1802).
