We asked you to compose a four word ode, beginning each line with the letters L, E, A, F. This fine example of LEAF poetry (left) was submitted by Johnny Nandy.
We received lots of fantastic entries. It was hard to choose the best so we asked the poet John Hegley to select some of his favourites. If you've sent in your leaf, check if you've made it on to the 'POETREE'

It's time for me to quit the site,
It's time for me to leave,
my thanks for the assistance
to Claudia, Rain and Steve
here at the BBC
and my thanks to YE,
for banging away on your contraptions:
your bright, inventive captions,
thanks for those
thanks for keeping me on my toes
on the message board,
thanks for the hoard of comments,
questions, criticisms and chat,
thank-you for all the leaves
you've left
on my Poetree.
I'll leave it
at that. | |
