The old and the new showing the new Sage building part of newcastle/Gateshead regeneration offset agint the chimney stacks of old Newcastle.
Judges comments: The image posseses an interesting contrast of old and new, past versus present. It looks as if the chimneys are reflected in the shape of the building. The picture is well-observed, well composed with the light repeated on the contours. The judges felt there was a lot to enjoy - they felt they could look at it for a long time.
