Death-defying Peter Duncan sets a new standard for daring Blue Peter missions when he takes on the role of steeplejack to clean the clock face of Big Ben.

With very little evidence that Health and Safety were ever consulted, he and the cameramen take on the task.

The minimal safety equipment that he wore to clean the clock face of Big Ben was the same as that given to steeplejacks carrying out the task back in the 1950s. The height of the clock tower is 316 feet (96 metres).
