Episode 73
The girls finally agree to head off to Iona. As soon as they arrive, they are struck by the tranquillity of the place. Sìleas fancies taking a wander to the main town on Iona. It's called “Baile Mòr”, which translates into English as ‘Big Town'. She's heard there is a bookshop there and she wants to absorb the peace and quiet with a good book.
Marsaili thinks this is absurd as the island is home to Iona Abbey. You could not find a place in Scotland steeped in so much history. Of course, she wants to make a beeline for it.
Marsaili: “Tha an t-àite seo làn eachdraidh agus tha thusa ag iarraidh leabhar a leughadh!” (This place is stuffed with history and you want to read a book)
