Part of a necklace

This is a piece of costume jewellery that dates from a time when poor people mimicked rich peoples' jewellery. A rich person's necklace would have been made of gold and tiger claw but this is made of gilt and mother of pearl , which is unusual. The owner dug it up in their rear garden in Holwell, Hertfordshire.
