The DeLorean was a rear-engined GT car built in Belfast in 1981 to 1982 and aimed at the North American market. It became famous when it appeared in the 'Back to the Future' trilogy of films starring Michael J Fox. It later became infamous due to the exploits of its creator, John Z DeLorean.
