Veronica's family moved from Italy to Cardiff in the 19th Century. This tambourine belonged to Veronica's grandmother, who played it with her husband to earn money as they travelled from Italy to Cardiff, walking over the alps as they came.
"My grandfather played the accordion and this tambourine is over 100 years old and grandmother made plenty of money out of this, believe me. They'd play love songs, Italian love songs"
The Cardiff Story is a new museum opening Cardiff's beautiful Old Library in autumn 2010. For the first time, Cardiffians and visitors alike will be able to see and hear the city's story through the eyes of its people.
The museum will focus on the stories that give the city its rich and wonderful character. If you have any stories or objects that tell an interesting tale about Cardiff, we'd love to hear from you.
