Fred Little, John's Uncle, picked up this Harry Beck designed London Tube Map from 1936. Uncle Fred lived near Alperton Tube Station on the Piccadilly Line near Wembley. This re-design of the original 1931 map introduced the diamond interchanges (Shown in the picture) and John was given the map by his Uncle. John went on to work on the railways, driving steam trains and helping to electrify the railways.
