Ogmore Valley Temperance Society Pledge

In 1895 in the Ogmore Valley there was a strong movement towards temperance with the valley having rapidly expanded since 1865 with tens of thousands pouring into the Valley, it was akin to the "Wild West" of America if the local newspaper reports are to believed.

As in most South Wales valley towns the "Chapels" were numerous and very influential and many issued certificates for Temperance and Religious Studies.
