Victorian Billy and Charley

Roy Suttle brought along this piece to the BBC Suffolk event at Ipswich Museum on Tuesday, 16 February, 2010.

Roy found this piece as a child after digging around in the ground. It was made by 'Billy and Charley' in the 19th Century and sold as medieval artifacts to tourists.

Around the edge, what appear to be Latin markings are visible. However, as the makers were illiterate, the writings could mean anything.
