Two miniature portraits.

Two miniature portraits.

My great, great, great, great uncle became best friends with William IV. This is because they both joined the navy together, on the same day, on the same ship - when they were both 13 years old.
At the time my great, great, great, great uncle didn't know William was going to be the next monarch of England.
They both attended the Napoleonic wars together and remained greatest of friends. My great, great, great, great uncle became an Admiral.
They both exchanged each other's portraits and when William IV died the portrait was returned to our family.
Ever since, we have treasured them greatly.
