Cannonball from 1665 Dutch Invasion

This half of a cannonball was found on the coastline of the Isle of Sheppey.

The item is from the Dutch Republic's raid on the River Medway on the 10th June 1665 which saw the incomplete fort at Sheerness and the town of Queenborough fall to the Dutch invaders.
