People are proud in Preston. As a boy I was very keen to tell anyone who would listen that Preston had the first Motorway in the UK. This paperweight celebrated the event. It came to me from my father who had some connection with the company who built the Motorway.
It reminds me of a time when Motorways and motoring were seen as positive things, to crow about, not despair of.
