A souvenir tea tray from the Butlins Holiday Camp in Clacton, uploaded on behalf of Norman Jacobs on the BBC Bus. During the 1950s and 60s holiday camps such as these were the most popular form of holiday in Great Britain. For Clacton in particular, the arrival of Butlins in 1938 was its final accolade as a major seaside resort. Between 1938 and 1983 it played a major part in the town's history. This tray is symbolic of the whole way of holiday life both in Clacton and Great Britain.
