Iolo Morganwg's sword

Contributed by St Fagans National History Museum

This sword was used by Iolo Morganwg in the first Gorsedd ceremony to be linked with an eisteddfod in Carmarthen in 1819. Since then the Gorsedd of the Bards has become an integral and colourful part of the National Eisteddfod.
