Discovery telescope

This telescope was used on board HMS Discovery during the British Arctic Expedition from 1875-76. It was also used on Captain Robert Falcon Scott's National Antarctic (Discovery) Expedition from 1901-04. In 1984 it was lent to NASA and taken aound the Earth in the Space Shuttle orbiter, Discovery. It is the Polar Museum's most well travelled object.
