Russell Caines from Saxons Estate Agents in Colchester, brought this document to the BBC bus. The document comes from a large number of papers dating back to the 1600s, which were handed in to the office on Colchester high street. This item dates back to 1684 and shows a property transfer from that time. It has a small cloth tassel which would once have contained a wax seal.

I've worked as a property lawyer on various conveyancing transactions and seen some pretty old documents going back over a century, but nothing quite as impressive as this!
