This is a letter to my Grandfather authorising him to act as Strike Picket at Marylebone Railway station in the General Strike of 1926, with the badges that he would have worn.
The strike lasted for 10 days from the 3rd May until the 13th May.It was called by the TUC in defence of miners wages and conditions. As a result of the strike the Government passed the Trade Unions Act which made sympathetic and mass strikes illegal.
