Coin gold plated medalion

This is a coin to represent my grandad being born.It is a 1941 half-penny and has been cut to show the ship and then gold-plated. My great-grandad got it because he survived coming back from Dunkirk. On the way back two ships sank but his ship didn't and he came back and lived through the war. My grandad (his son) was born in the same year as Dunkirk, 1941, so it was a special year in our family. My grandad gave this coin to me for remembrance.
