    As Izaak Walton was born in Stafford, it's good to see his famous book featured here. It makes for a enjoyable read if the fishing is regarded as part of its natural history narrative, and the book itself seen as a refuge from the Civil War which presents the fisherman's virtues as the answer to the conflicts of the day. So don't skip the dialogue between the fishing sections -

    Good that Izaak Walton is included; He was arguably the first modern biographer The poet John Donne being his first, followed by four other Churchmen. There is a small thatched cottage at Shallowford Nr Stafford that houses a small museum to this man, his works, and his times.
