This plaque is the name plate for Sinclair & Wight the veterinary surgery where Alf Wight the author James Herriot practised. James Herriot brought fame to rural North Yorkshire, when he recorded tales of his life as a local veterinarian. His books have been translated into many different languages and are read world wide.
