This aeroplane was made by my great great grandad out of cigarette boxes in the trenches in France in World War 1 for his baby son. He died in World War 1 but made his friend promise to bring it back home for his son. This object is important as it gives me an insight into how life in the trenches was and what the soliders did to occupy their time while fighting in a dreadful war.
